RCB vs SRH: It Was A Bad Day At The Office – Faf du Plessis After Royal Challengers Bangalore’s Horrible Performance vs Kane Williamson And Co.

Faf du Plessis-led Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) lost by 9 wickets against Kane Williamson-led Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the 36th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 at the Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai, on Saturday, April 23.

Royal Challengers Bangalore got bundled out for just 68 runs, while batting first, and while chasing the target Abhishek Sharma played an explosive knock to help SRH earn a victory in the 8th over itself. Also, this was Sunrisers Hyderabad’s 5th consecutive win in the tournament.

Speaking at the post-match presentation Faf du Plessis said that Royal Challengers Bangalore shouldn’t have lost a lot of wickets in the first few overs. He asserted:

“The first four overs, we shouldn’t have lost so many wickets, it was a bit spicy upfront. We still got to find a way to set a foundation (in the upcoming games), even if it’s sacrificing a few runs in the powerplay.”

He added that it is important to get through the phase where the ball moves a lot and after that batting becomes much easier. He asserted:

“We just needed to get through that phase where the ball was swinging and seaming, once you get through it, it becomes easier. ”

RCB skipper Faf du Plessis further added that the wicket was very good and they had high expectations from it. He said that as a team they need to learn and move forward as IPL 2022 is a long tournament.

Faf du Plessis also showered praise on SRH pacer Marco Jansen who picked 3 wickets in one over and broke the back of the Royal Challengers Bangalore early on in the innings. He said:

“This wicket looked the best, the expectations were pretty high, it was a very good wicket. Jansen bowled well in his first over and got the big wickets. It was a bad day at the office, but you need to keep your chin up and need to get the learning from it. As a team we need to move forward, it’s a long tournament.”
